Universal Music Enterprise (UMe) will be reissuing a number of genre defining records in special edition formats from legendary artists like Ludacris, Eazy-E, Kanye, Eminem, and DMX. To help promote this campaign, Made Woman Magazine is holding a contest with some special Respect the Classics prizes!
Here's How It Works
- Choose an album or artist from the RTC release schedule that you want to pay homage to.
- Create a photo, video, drawing or other form of artistic expression and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org from 2/10-2/23.
- Get your friends to vote for your entry on the Made Woman Mag Facebook page!
One winner will be selected based on how many votes (likes/comments) they receive, so the more people you tell, the better!
Entrants have a chance to win $200 cash, and a “Respect the Classics” Vinyl Prize Pack.
One winner will also be able to select the next RTC release from UMe’s music catalogue, and help with the concept design for the vinyl! On February 24th the voting period begins and fans of the magazine will weigh in on who has the most respect for the classics -- by voting on the Made Woman Mag Facebook page. The winning submission will be announced on February 28th.
The contest is part of the larger Respect the Classics Campaign, a cross-label initiative and salute to hip-hop’s most iconic, genre-defining albums and today’s rising stars. Through this campaign, special edition versions of classic hip-hop vinyls from the Def Jam, Interscope, Priority, and Virgin Record vault are reissued, to the delight of all music fans.
On March 18th, Universal Music Enterprises will release its Vinyl Collector's Edition of Kayne West’s 808s and Heartbreak album. For more information on this release, please visit respecttheclassics.com.
Deadline is 2014-02-23
