December 4, 2014, became the point in time where Lil Wayne publically disclosed his disappointment with a label he had called home for decades. Since then, Cash Money has dealt with a slew of odd controversies including an alleged murder attempt on Weezy F Baby, Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Tyga’s various issues as well as legal drama among others. Staying silent throughout it all was Cash Money co-owner Brian “Baby” Williams a.k.a. Birdman. That’s until now. Spending two days in Miami with one of the most villainized figures in contemporary Hip Hop, Angie Martinez interviewed Stunna in the most revealing sit down one will probably see all year. Here are ten interesting points taken from the two-part interview.

Wayne & Baby Are Communicating…Somewhat

According to Birdman, it’s been several months since he’s had time to really talk with Wayne about the tweets that shocked Hip Hop. That’s nearly seven months since Wayne dropped the most surprising Tweet of last year. The silent treatment both are giving each other is unfortunate, sadly, considering how close the two were throughout the decades. Anyone doubting the validity of their problems can understand that things are really serious when anger stops communication. If anything, both are having their lawyers speak for them. However, the two still remain in contact over the phone and speak regularly.

In Birdman’s Eye’s, The Beef “Isn’t That Bad”

Yes, Wayne and Birdman are reportedly in a vicious legal battle. As Wayne says on track two of Free Weezy Album banger “He’s Dead,” rest in peace to the Cash Money Weezy gone but not forgotten. From Weezy’s point of view, his relationship with Stunna is over. However, the Cash Money head doesn’t see recent problems as anything but a small issue. Considering what’s been reported, this level of cool is interesting. Birdman even offered to give Wayne anything he wanted and said he could leave whenever; Birdman Jr. just has to pay.

Birdman Isn’t Broke & Cash Money Is Worth Between $500 Million To $1 Billion

There have been many reports that Birdman has been hit with financial issues following a foreclosure to a Miami condo. Birdman bought the former home of hit-making record producer Scott Storch. Part one of his interview with Martinez takes place on a ridiculously luxurious yacht. That also includes a waiter and dinner that sounds expensive. Though Birdman has been seen as a shrewd businessman, he mentioned his upcoming legal battle with Tidal is actually the first time he’s ever sued anyone in his entire life.

Nicki Minaj & Drake Are Satisfied With Their Contracts

“Nicki & Drake is good,” says Birdman to Martinez during the interview. Besides that, looks like both aren’t going anywhere if Baby has anything to do with it. Though he remains quite on his relationship with Drake, he seems to hold Minaj in high regards. Alongside calling her one of the most talented hustlers in the game, Baby refers to Ms. Onika as his little sister who he speaks with regularly. According to the Cash Money head, “You’ll never have another female who has accomplished what she has.”

Birdman Had Nothing To Do With The Bottle Throwing Incident

It wasn’t a good look earlier this month when a video surfaced of Weezy getting a drink poured on him from a balcony occupied by Baby and crew. From the position of the Cash Money co-head, he wasn’t involved with any of it. Being the boss he is, Birdman says he rarely goes out. The night Lil Wayne was slated to perform for Jim Jones’ birthday celebration one Miami night at club Liv, Baby just so happened to be there. According to Birdman, he would never do anything disrespectful toward his son.

Allegations Regarding Involvement In Wayne’s Shooting Are Crazy

We all let out a collective gasp when it was revealed that Cobb county prosecutors were looking into Young Thug and Birdman as possible collaborators in the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting that occurred. The news made headlines, obviously, though the two have never been charged with anything. Here, Birdman denies any involvement in that shooting at all stating, “You got to be crazy if you think I would do that to my son.”

Says He Worries About Wayne As Hip Hop Gets Gangsta Sometimes

Following up on that question, he said he was worried about Wayne in regards to the shooting because Hip Hop gets gangsta at times. While he claims he wouldn’t let anything happen to his son on his watch, he makes strangely clear that if he’s not watching there isn’t anything he can do about it. Maybe he really did deserve that Marvel cover with Kingpin.

He Still Loves Wayne Like His Son

Birdman claims to still love Wayne like a son despite all the drama that’s gone on between them since the tweet that shook up the world. In fact, he says that Young Thug wasn’t a replacement for the emcee, but backup considering Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake’s long standing in the game. It made the mogul sound fantastically understanding despite his long silence and his penchant for simply not paying people. Well, allegedly at least.

Tyga’s Contract Has Been Renegotiated With Cash Money

Apparently, Tyga won’t be going anywhere, although his Tweets earlier last year said very differently. Apparently, his issues stemmed from his deal with Young Money, not Cash Money. In fact, he claims to have renegotiated the deal with Tyga and brought him specifically under the Cash Money umbrella. What’s more boss than that?

Young Thug and Lil Wayne Aren’t Beefing

Lil Wayne and Young Thug aren’t beefing either, according to Baby. Lil Wayne has said as much in interviews, claiming that he didn’t realize that the Carter VI was a direct homage and not a jab at the New Orleans legend. But Baby made things very clear. Saying specifically that the beef was a media creation. “He love him and he respect him,” Birdman said. “And still today Thug ain’t beefing with Wayne and Wayne ain’t beefing with Thug.”
