According to a familiar cliché, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your favorite celebrities—including rappers—are doing less and less press, but luckily their thumbs and smartphones still work. Instagram has provided a way for them to document their lives and/or thoroughly embarrass themselves for our collective enjoyment. The beauty of it all is that you don’t even need to join Instagram, as most rappers are perfectly fine leaving their feeds open for public viewing. And if you’d rather avoid the IG life altogether, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s pictures and videos and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.

This week, Hip Hop welcomed Remy Ma back home from a six-year bid, and some dedicated fans showed their love to Run The Jewels and Ludacris. Check the rest of the week’s top Instagram posts below.

Remy Ma Returns Home From Prison

On May 13, 2008, Remy Ma was handed a Supreme Court sentence of eight years in prison after being charged with two counts of assault in connection with an argument she had with Makeda Barnes-Joseph, in July of 2007. Barnes-Joseph was shot two times while the two women struggled in a car. The Bronx-bred emcee expected to be released July 31, but had her return delayed due to a disciplinary issue. Remy’s Instagram account was filled with well wishes from fellow emcees Busta Rhymes, Troy Ave, French Montana and others. Remy wasted no time as one of her first pics as a free woman was taken in the studio with DJ Khaled.

“I had a busy first day,” she wrote on her IG caption. Here’s hoping she recaptures some of the magic that helped her 2005 solo debut There’s Something About Remy: Based On A True Story peak at the #33 spot on Billboard magazine’s “Hot 100” chart.

A Dedicated Fan Shaves Ludacris’ Silhouette In His Head

Despite a diverse career featuring acting and philanthropy, Ludacris hasn’t released a retail album since 2010’s Battle of the Sexes. That didn’t stop one fan from paying tribute, as the yet-to-be-named Luda devotee etched the Atlanta rapper on the back of his head with the help of what was most likely a highly-skilled barber. The fan opted for Ludacris circa 2000-2001 complete with a massive afro and mutton chop sideburns. Luda captioned the pic with the words “True Fan.” In the words of a track by former Disturbing Tha Peace member 2 Chainz, “That’s an understatement.”

Killer Mike Salutes An Inked Up Run The Jewels Fan

Speaking of overly dedicated fans, one listener was so enamored with Killer Mike and El-P’s rugged collaboration, he inked their logo on his hands. The trademark grimy gun fingers and gripped gold chain are on one fan’s outer palm for life—essentially recreating the Run The Jewels album art each time he puts his fists together. Killer Mike shouted out the fan via Instagram and asked similar fans to show off their shirts, art, haircuts and other tributes so he could salute them.

Hopsin Grinds The Rails In Ann Arbor

It’s safe to assume the 2013 track from Hopsin’s Knock Madness “Nollie Tre Flip” is autobiographical. While on tour in Michigan, Hop took to Instagram (with the help of Cedric Dager) and posted a few tricks in a local skate park. In addition to grinding a rail on nearby set of steps, Hopsin pulled off a kickflip. If you were in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the right time, you might have caught Hop getting busy near you—on his board or on the stage.

Did Rick Ross Pull Off An Ollie?

Look, we rarely go ham with the skateboarding tricks here on Instagram Flexin’, but this merits a shout (or at least a raised eyebrow). Rick Ross has been talking and tweeting about adopting a healthier lifestyle since suffering from at least two strokes in 2011. The Bawse has slimmed down, but is he skateboard slim yet? Ross posted an IG pic of himself rocking skater Stevie Williams’ DGK line while pulling off an ollie. Or maybe this was just some clever posing with Ross leaning back on his board. After all, we don’t think he’s at the level where he’s pulling off skate tricks with a blunt in his hand. #Skatebort.

Alicia Keys & Swizz Beats Expecting Second Child

Power couple Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys rang in their four-year anniversary with Swizz announcing Keys is pregnant with the couple’s second child. The pair married in 2010 and welcomed son Egypt Daoud Dean in October of that year. Keys’ baby bump means that in addition to boosting his business skills via enrollment at Harvard Business School, Swizz can add to the musical pair’s brood with either a brother or sister for young Egypt.

Fashawn Visits HipHopDX & Talks Mass Appeal Deal

Yeah, yeah, yeah…some shameless self-promotion here. Hip Hop fans in general have been salivating the release of Fashawn’s forthcoming album, The Ecology. The ante was upped when Fash confirmed signing with the Nas-backed Mass Appeal Records in June. During a July 30 visit to HipHopDX’s Hollywood, California offices, the Fresno, California emcee detailed building with Nas in Germany and talk about his sophomore album. And, it also appears the proverbial cat is out of the bag. Fashawn posted a few some shots atop DX’s roof from his “Hollywood Freestyle.” They say anticipation makes the heart grow fonder, so stay tuned for both Fash’s freestyle clip and the September 30 release of The Ecology via Mass Appeal Records.

Snoop Dogg Sends Encouragement To Paul George

Those in and outside of sports—particularly professional basketball—collectively gasped Friday when Indiana Pacers’ forward Paul George suffered an open tibia-fibula fracture during the US national basketball team’s intrasquad scrimmage. The hashtag #PrayForPaulGeorge began trending Friday night after the all star forward’s leg buckled following a foul on teammate James Harden. Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne (via Twitter) were just a few in the Hip Hop community to send well wishes to George, with Snoop opting for a photo collage.

Wale & DJ Premier Work On “The Album About Nothing”

Good news if you’re a Wale fan and prefer Mr. Folarin’s work a bit rougher around the edges. With his upcoming The Album About Nothing, the odds are highly favorable iconic producer DJ Premier will lend his talents to the project. Selassie Dan cam through with the panoramic iPhone picture of Premo lacing Wale with some head in the studio. Wale re-grammed the flick, and while it’s not a guarantee of a DJ Premier track placement, we know every emcee’s life is a little better with a Premo beat at their disposal, right?
