The R&B/Hip Hop world has always made room for new soulful sirens. Sabrina has a rich, husky voice that rains down on the eardrum. Fitting in between the heartiness of Tina Marie and the sultry appeal that Pink! first wooed with, Sabrina’s voice also carries one hell of a punch.

Not a stranger to major collaborations she became the buzzed fan fair through a feature with the group Nappy Roots. Now Sabrina is taking the time out to find herself musically while seeking out her own audience. Confident in her newfound status, the song bird is piecing together an electric mixture of tunes that will stretch the scope of rhythm and blues.

Lifelong Aspirations: “I grew up singing, my dad used to sing so we had a studio in our house. I’ve been singing since probably the sixth grade so I’ve been pretty much doing it my whole life. Professionally, I realized it after I went through my divorce two years ago. Everything around me was changing and I decided that I just wanted to go for it.

The Industry:Well we have distribution through Universal, but I’m still not signed to a label. As far as the journey, I had to work hard all day and night. I had to grind and just be tough.

Fantastic Features: Working with the Nappy Roots was great, we did the song ‘Election Day.’ I actually have a song coming out with Big V of the Nappy Roots which is really cool, ’cause he’s my favorite [group member].

Linking With Pop Star Publicist Jonathan Hay:I actually met him through a mutual client of his who was also a friend of mine. We were introduced and just hit it off and started working together. He’s been a huge key to where I’m at now.

The Debut:The most exciting part is all the new people that I get to meet and work with. From working on this, there’s a lot of people that I got to know. The date of the album’s release it still yet to be determined. The name of the album is No Rose Petals and Bubble Baths because my material isn’t sugar coated.

Bringing Something Memorable To The R&B Genre:Oh, that’s a good question, I just want to be able to speak to people’s souls. As far as club music goes I do like to listen to it, but I want to do music that’s going to change people. I want my music to speak to people and encourage them.

The Benchmark:I will finally feel like I’ve made it when my name ends up on Perez Hilton. The day that he disses me and draws all over my face with something crazy that’s when I’ll know that I’ve truly made it.
